About the Gus and Buddy Fund

One Dog at a Time

Our First Dog and
Our First Rescue

The Gus and Buddy Fund was founded in 2018 by Mark and Colleen Baldwin to help pets and other animals in need of emergent or long-term medical care.

Buddy was the first dog we rescued, he lived with us for 14 years before dying of cancer in 2018.

One day, while on a walk with Buddy, we were approached by a stray dog without any identification. Unable to find an owner, he became the first pet that we rescued and rehomed with a wonderful family who named him Gus.

Overjoyed with their newly adopted pet, we had discussed our desire to help other animals in some way. Gus's family encouraged us to set up a non-profit to support our interest in keeping animals safe.

We founded The Gus and Buddy Fund as an organization to assist homeless animals, pets with cancer, and families with limited financial resources.
